Frequently
Asked
Questions

What are your age restrictions?
We start children's lobes at 3 months old with proper documentation.
Cartilage piercings start at age 13, some exceptions can be made.
any facial piercings on minors are at the discretion of the piercer
.
Genital and Nipple piercings are ONLY performed on adults 18 or older by law. no exceptions.

What are the paperwork requirements for minors?
Any minor needs to have a parent present with their valid government issued ID (passport or driver's license) in addition to the minor's birth certificate and a photo ID (learner's permit or school photo ID). If last names do not match, then you must bring proof of guardianship or proof of name change.
You MUST be the child's parent or legal guardian. Aunts, uncles, cousins, and siblings are NOT lega
l guardians.

Can you fit more than one person into one piercing appointment?
Unfortunately no. If more than one person is looking to get pierced, you each need to book your own separate 30 minute appointment slot.
You cannot use a "+1 piercing service" as an additional piercing service on another person, it is only to add five minutes to your existing service. Sadly, 5 minutes doesn't leave us muc
h time to perform a full piercing service (including paperwork, jewelry selection, sterilization, prep, and piercing).

What if I'm running late?
If you are running behind, we ask that you give us a call BEFORE you are late to your appointment time. We have a ten minute grace period, but any longer than that and your appointment will be forfeit and you will be charged the cancellation fee.
The best course of action would be to plan to arrive 10-15 minutes earlier that your appointment to accommodate for parking and traffic conditions.

Will I be charged a cancellation fee?
Yes.  Unfortunately we have our cancellation fees for a reason. We are a small business and our time is money. The fee covers the time slot that you booked. Unless you call ahead of time to open the slot for someone else to take, we unfortunately cannot waive the fee. We cannot simply cancel your appointment because you came unprepared. The ONLY way to avoid the cancel fee same day is to reschedule for the next weekend (locals only). If you fail to come to the next appointment or cancel in advance you will still be help responsible for the initial cancellation fee.

How many piercings can I get in one appointment?
we normally cap off the number of piercings in one sitting at 4 piercings.

What do you pierce with?
We pierce with implant grade titanium ASTM F-136 or 14k solid gold. ALL of our stud options come standard with a titanium backing which is always included in the price quoted in store, but if you prefer all gold, we can accommodate with gold posts for an additional charge.

Can I bring my own jewelry?
Unfortunately, no. We need to make sure that we know what we are putting in your body to provide the best possible healing experience. We have a great selection of high quality pieces in store for you to choose from.
we cannot and will not use jewelry purchased elsewhere.
The only exception to this is if you purchased another high quality piece from another piercing studio. It must be free of scratches and you will be charged a $10 reprocessing fee. These pieces would need to be

What is the minimum I should expect to pay?
It depends entirely on how many piercings you are getting and what piece. You can refer to our pricing guide on our about page to calculate your minimum. Our minimum cost for one piercing with our cheapest jewelry selection would come to $85 plus tax. Our cheapest 14k gold selection with one piercing fee included is $142.98 after tax.

Do you offer numbing?
NO, we do not offer numbing and we highly discourage any use of at-home numbing agents prior to your appointment. Numbing products are a medical product that "vasoconstricts" the area, meaning the blood vessels constrict and significantly decrease blood flow to the area. We need all the healthy blood in the area to promote healing. In addition, these products can alter the way your tissue lays, so what looks like a nice straight piercing initially, can shift into a crooked one once the numbing agent wears off.
We try
to make the experience as quick and painless as possible, and more often than not, its not as bad as most people anticipate.

My Jewelry broke, can you give me a new piece?
Absolutely! We have a lifetime warranty on all of our pieces, all you have to do is bring/send back the broken item and we'll give you the same piece, or one of equal or lesser value!
When mailing back an item make sure to get tracking and insurance for the value of the piece. We are not liable for lost packages, and we cannot ship your new piece until we receive the broken item.
Additionally, we carry jewelry from a lot of popular brands that other piercing studios may carry. You can always inquire with your local piercing shop about a warranty replacement through their shop.

I lost my jewelry, can you give me a replacement?
No. Unfortunately the only thing our warranty does not cover is total loss.

I inquired about a piercing and was told you don't offer it. Why?
This depends on the piercing. A lot of the time when we decline a piercing service it is because it is something that causes long term damage to the body/teeth. Examples of this are smilies, horizontal tongue (snake eyes).
Other times it is because we do not have a piercer on staff that performs the piercing. Examples of this would be cheek piercings, surface piercings, and genital piercings.
Another reason could be that we saw you in person and your particular anatomy was not properly suited for the piercing that you wanted. Examples of this would be industrials, daith, rook, etc.

Can I bring a guest with me?
Of course! As long as everyone stays out of the piercer's way and does not shift the person getting pierced, we're all good! We have seating in the piercing rooms so we can allow a few people back with you.

Can I video record the procedure?
No.  We do not allow video recording in the procedure rooms. This allows for the piercer to be fully focused on the service they are providing and not what is being recorded or how they look on camera, or if someone is about to touch something they shouldn't.
Pictures are encouraged and we have some great locations for selfies afterwards.
Anyone
caught recording may be asked to leave the premises.

What should I do to prepare?
Make sure you have had something to eat or drink at least 4 hours before your appointment.
Do not get pierced if you are about to go on vacation where you will be swimming.

I am prone to passing out. Can I still get pierced?
Absolutely! Just alert your piercer beforehand so they can already be alert and ready to take any actions they may need to take to keep you safe after performing the piercing.
Make sure to eat something a few hours beforehand and if you have vasovagal syncope, we will be sure to block off a little extra time in case we need to stay lying down for a bit so no fall injury occurs.

Can I be pierced if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
Unfortunately no. By law we cannot pierce anything on a person who is pregnant or nursing.
Other than the legal implications, piercings are a non-essential cosmetic service that can become infected and require treatment. Pregnancy hormones can also cause adverse affects on a healing piercing.
If you choose not to breastfeed, you may get pierced 6 months postpartum. This is to give your body time to focus on itself to heal. Your body has been in overdrive for nine months. Give it time to focus on itself.
Any person that suffers a miscarriage or voluntary termination should wait a minimum of three months to allow for hormone levels to stabilize.
With nipple piercings specifically, you should wait until 6 months AFTER you are completely FINISHED breastfeeding before piercing them. Breastfeeding can alter the appearance of the nipple so this time is needed to allow the tissue to settle.

Why Can't I start out with a hoop?
Hoops tend to be more difficult for the healing process. We avoid putting extra stress and friction on the piercing by avoiding hoops altogether except for on Daith and Septum piercings where we can comfortably use a diameter large enough to reduce irritation. Switching to a tight fitting hoop style too soon can cause piercing irritation bumps that can be unsightly and difficult to get rid of.
For this reason we like to say that hoops are the end destination, not the starting point.

Can I go swimming after my new piercing?
It is not advisable, no.
Swimming pools, lakes, hot tubs, and even your own bathtub have lots of foreign material floating around that you don't want getting into your new piercing! We normally advise allowing the piercing a few months to start the healing process before even THINKING about submerging it in any water.
DO NOT get pierced if you are about to go on vacation where you will be swimming.

I can't find you. Where are you located?
We are located on Woodland street in the WeWork building right next to Joyland!
Parking is free for the first hour, but make sure you scan the QR code in the parking lot or else you can get a ticket!
